You come to in a dark room. You can hear a faint dripping sound coming from one corner, and the breathing of others from behind you. You're all tied together. There is no one else in the room, just the four of you. As your eyes adjust some can see reinforced door, some see a trough with a dripping faucet.

Andron blinks dazedly as he comes to, then looks cautiously around. Why can't he remember how he got here? That's not good.

He takes a look around, wondering where Meer, his familiar, is.

Jirou shook his head and looked around the room, testing his bonds to see if there was any apparent way to get out of them. "Lonael, are you still with me?" he asked, sticking to Felin in case they were being watched.

Lonael came too somewhat slowly, but she noticed immediately the feeling of being bound. She narrowed her eyes, as she reflexively flexed and attempted to rip her binds apart through her sheer force of will and strength. That seemed to work for her in the past, after all. Either way, he looked around as she did so, worried about what might have happened to her friend. She heard him call for her, and somewhat relieved, pulled harder against her restraints, and said "Right... here..."

Jirou and Lonael find themselves next to each other in the binds. In front of them in the corner of the room is a small pile of broken glass.
For all who try to break the rope, the binds are far too strong, it turns out that breaking a good rope is exceptionally hard.

Jirou switched back to Common, keeping his voice low. "That's good then. Don't worry, we'll be out momentarily."

He brought his hands up to his face and bit down on the rope, gnawing through the strands. Even good rope doesn't last long when chewed through.

Lonael nodded, and was content to let Jirou try to cut his way out. She figured he could rescue her once he was free. Still, she wasn't content to sit here and do nothing, and to that end she once again flexed in an attempt to rip her bonds apart. They didn't feel that tough after all, surely she could get out of here on her own eventually, it'd just take some time.

Andron closed his eyes for a moment and concentrated. Normally, casting Arcane magic was like undoing a series of gates, letting the power flow from one's soul through one's hands and to one's head before it was loosed on the world. Normally, it required chanting and handwaving.

What he was about to do was not Arcane magic.

To specialize in a field of magic was to invite that field into one's soul, to make it part of oneself. It fundamentally altered one's nature, giving one access to abilities that, while magical, were most certainly not spells. It was one of those abilities that Andron needed now.

When the elf's eyes, green as the endless forest, snapped open, no one could have doubted the arcane power brimming there. He focused on the ropes binding him, staring intently and aiming. Normally, the force of this particular power was spread out and could do no more than punch... but here, freed of the limitations of using it on a combat timescale, he could concentrate the punch into a smaller area and greatly amplify the total impact.

When he could wind the spring no tighter, he released the force, and the rope snapped.

Standing and dusting himself off, he spoke to his companions. "Does anyone know where we are?"

With the rope being chewed through and strained, it breaks. A quick snap sound and it falls to the ground around you. As you stretch your legs and arms you can hear the faint sound of a door being opened down the hall through the peeking hole in the cell door.

You currently do not have your weapons, but the rest of your equipment is on you.

Lonael rubbed her arms as she stood up. This was disorienting, and she hardly had any idea what had happened to them. She moved towards a wall, and ran her hand across it to feel the texture as she headed for the door. Hopefully some details about where they were could be made more known if they could tell the condition of the room.

She also made it a point to start actively sniffing the air. It wouldn't do her too much good, but she could smell much better than most other people, and if any of the scents could give her a better idea of where they were as well, well, they were as important as her other senses.

"Jirou... what happened last night?"

The cold stone walls run smoothly under your hand as a thin layer of slimy moss covers your fingers. The air is musty and smells slightly of decay.

Not really put off by the lack of answer to his question, Andron walked over to the cell door and peered out through the peeking hole.

"Aside from possibly having been drugged, recollections are a bit fuzzy. It's as though several pages of a book were left blank."

Jirou looked over at Andron as he shed the last bits of rope from his wrists and picked up the longest piece of it for later use. "Your guess is as good as mine," he said. "We all know equally nothing, I believe."

He walked over to the wall next to the door, where he could potentially lash out at and surprise someone entering the room. "See anything?"

As you approach the door you can hear another open followed by screams and a dragging sound. After a brief moments the dragging stops and you can hear the rattle of chains. The last scream heard is just the word no, then it stops suddenly with metal clashing the stone wall and a light chuckle. Footsteps start growing louder as a source of light comes down the hall, getting closer to your door every second.

Lonael naturally adopted an offensive posture. She was still clear headed for now, but she was in a dangerous situation, and with the scream and oncoming footsteps, she expected nothing but the worst, as did the voice in her head that growled menacingly to her. Steeled and ready, she dropped low, ready to harm whatever came through that door. It clearly couldn't be friendly, considering how they got here.
