Looking for Group

So, this is a thread to discuss intra-party relations. How do people know each other, what does the group want to do, where will characters start, etc.

Assuming we start in the East, I plan to be near DK territory, handing out weapons to would-be adventurers (for a price) and encouraging them to bring me back fresh DK corpses for "study." Haven't quite worked out motivation yet, though, because I haven't worked out exactly how/why my guy should go renegade.

I think my patron will be the Silver Prince, so I'm probably following my deep seated belief that if you want to hide from someone the other side of creation is a good place to start and operating in the east?

My motivation is to: become creation's greatest martial artist. Currently that means "Become the strongest" but I want to try to shift it to "attain spiritual balance and mastery of my art."
On the other hand it would also be fun to play a brawler with anger issues.

My character would be willing to work for anyone who could promise him strong Martial Artists to fight. He also has a 4-dot manse which might attract other renegades.

as for being in the east still working on that, i'm thinking right now that that's where he was originally from.

Well, just say that he survived the Wyld Hunt, barely, by escaping into a shadowland where he was captured by a deathknight. The Deathlords have a simple spell to convert Solars to Abyssals.

The question then is how did he manage to break their brainwashing?

Wyld hunt leads army against Solar and his followers, driving them into a thriving local town, thousands die, creating a Shadowland which lets a deathlord and his zombie army into Creation, who then hold off the Hunt and giving the deathlord time to necro the incapacitated Solar into an Abyssal. A Loom sysadmin squad rappels in to deal with cascading Fate errors, giving the new Day caste time to sneak away from Thorn's worst. day. ever.

Lol, that's pretty good. I can't figure out why my character would actually turn renegade, because he's still too much of an evil jerk in my mind. A fun to play evil jerk, but he's a bit too far on the Richard from LFG side of affairs. I'm this close to taking my speed-build Lunar from the Train Robbery one-shot and tweaking him for a campaign.

You could always go with an independent exaltation, or pick a patron who's moving too slow for your character's tastes.

I suppose... Hmmm, there's an idea. I think my guy will be trying to make Harborhead finally wear itself out fighting (or attract enough Realm attention that they blow it to smithereens) by supplying it with various nasty things. Mostly mundane things for now (not enough points for Necromancy just yet), but necrotech later on.

I have enough that I can stitch things together, but not give them life. It's kind of frustrating, but some XP later will fix that.

That's assuming I don't just go with the Lunar idea, which might be interesting.

On a slightly different note, my character has a 4 dot solar manse. We might use that as a base of operation for whatever plans we get going. The only thing I *really* want it to have is an archive of Solar Hero Style. It might also explain why we keep a necrotec around, since I would need someone to keep the manse in working order.

PM what you have for your manse so far and what your general idea is. If you guys want it to be party HQ I can work it into the history of the Eastern kingdom I'm using as a starting area.

It honestly depends on what the party needs. The two things I really want are for it to have archive so I can continue learning my MA styles and for it to somehow be my first age tomb.

Well, in that case Nara-o would also know where it is. You might want to tell someone.

So would it be alright if I was the Reincarnation of the Solar Patron of the country? It would give my character a reason to remain in the region, a path (sort of) to redemption by killing major criminals and freeing it from Realm control, and explain why I have a 4 dot manse. It would also give us a basic image: we are squatters in a major tomb pretending to be ghost while trying to achieve redemption. Just an Idea.

It would also give me a city if I ever managed to become a Solar again. ;D

That'd be fine. The Solar patron was buried elsewhere though, so if you want to claim a tomb in Naraka itself, one of the tombs of the Golden Children/half-castes would be your best bet.

Or one of the kings/daimyos could have secretly been a Solar if you'd prefer.

The Tomb of a Half-Caste would be fine. Would his Ghost still be around? He'd make a good ally.
